Copyright Terms of Use

Except as permitted by the copyright law applicable to you*, you may not reproduce or communicate any of the content on this website, including files downloadable from this website, without the permission or approval of the copyright owner.

School staff or individual teachers who have completed professional learning or training with Minds Wide Open have permission to print, copy, use or display our materials in their school only.

This includes uses by educational institutions and by Commonwealth and State governments, provided fair compensation is paid. Content that is owned and published by Minds Wide Open may lead to compensation being paid to Minds Wide Open when used by educational institutions and governments, including through licensing schemes managed by Copyright Agency.

Materials are marked "© Minds Wide Open".

Some older materials which are owned by Minds Wide Open may also be marked "© James Phelps" or "© The4theye".

We may change these terms of use from time to time. Check before re-using any content from this website.



Attendee Cancellation and Non Attendance Policy

You are free to cancel prior to any event without penalty.

If you are unable to attend an event/workshop, a replacement delegate may be sent in your place at no extra charge. Notification must be made in writing or via phone and received prior to the event commencing. 

Participants who have registered for a MINDS WIDE OPEN event/workshop but are unable to attend, are responsible for notifying MINDS WIDE OPEN of non-attendance. Full event cost will apply if notification of cancellation is not made by close of registrations. Any cancellation must be made in writing and sent by email to admin(AT)MindsWideOpen.com.au or SMS to 0423 649 104. An administration fee of $25 may also apply if notification of cancellation is not made by close of registrations. If you fail to notify of cancellation and fail to attend, at our discretion you may transfer to a different Minds Wide Open product or event. "store credit"

 

Payment

For individual bookings, payment is required within 7 days of an invoice being issued.  For school bookings, payment is required within 30 days of an invoice being issued. All prices are inclusive of GST.

 

Administration Fees

MINDS WIDE OPEN reserves the right to charge an AU$25 administration fee where registrations change significantly from time of original booking.

 

Image Release

In registering for MINDS WIDE OPEN workshops, delegates grant permission to MINDS WIDE OPEN, its agents and others working under its authority, to take and to have full and free use of video/photographs containing their image/likeness. It is understood these images may be used for promotional, news, on-line/multimedia, research and/or educational purposes by and for MINDS WIDE OPEN. Delegates agree that they are not entitled to remuneration, residuals, royalties or any other payment from MINDS WIDE OPEN in respect of their image/likeness or its use. Delegates release, discharge, and hold harmless, MINDS WIDE OPEN and its agents from any and all claims, demands or causes of actions that they may hereafter have by reason of anything contained in the photographs or video. Should a delegate not agree to the above image release, they must advise MINDS WIDE OPEN by contacting 0423 649 104 or email admin(AT)MindsWideOpen.com.au.

 

Change of Program Content

MINDS WIDE OPEN will endeavour to ensure that the workshop program is correct at the time of the event. Unfortunately we may need to alter the program prior to or during the event and reserve the right to do so without notice. Every effort will be made to ensure a program of equivalent standard.

We also reserve the right to postpone or cancel this event. MINDS WIDE OPEN is not responsible for any loss or damage as a result of a substitution, alteration, postponement or cancellation of an event. 

 

Privacy Act Note

MINDS WIDE OPEN is concerned with the protection of your privacy. We support the privacy principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), as amended.

MINDS WIDE OPEN collects and stores your personal information. Here is how your data may be used: 

For the purposes of the event: Your details may be provided to parties directly related to the workshop including the workshop registration manager, caterers and other workshop options. 

Communication: MINDS WIDE OPEN may use your details to promote new courses, products and services in the form of email communications and/or other types of communication. Email admin(AT)MindsWideOpen.com.au if you would prefer not to receive communications from MINDS WIDE OPEN. We will then remove your details from any of our internal mailing lists.

Contact by 3rd Party Notice

MINDS WIDE OPEN does not make the attendee lists available to third parties except for use in communicating necessary information to fulfill our services.

 

Recording of Accreditation Hours

  • Participants who complete the required hours for MINDS WIDE OPEN endorsed PD workshops will have their hours validated automatically in the NESA system. Records usually will be updated within 30 days of the event.

  • It is the responsibility of participants of the MINDS WIDE OPEN workshops to evaluate the course on the NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA) Minds Wide Open website for their hours to be accredited.

  • Records of attendance are maintained on file by MINDS WIDE OPEN for auditing purposes.
